CapReef has turned its focus onto Gladstone Harbour and adjacent waterways to examine trends in recreational fishing. The project is a one year project being funded by the QGC Sustainable Communities Fund and will run through to Sept 2012. With the current fish health issues not far away from media headlines daily the question a lot of fishers are asking is how this and all the developments going on will effect fishing? CapReef is collecting data through boat ramp surveys, fish tagging and historical boat ramp surveys and fishing club records to provide some insight into those effects.
